Dont worry we don't guide in Squamish

I came across this spooky note whilst riding in Squamish a few weeks ago. After finishing our ride and stocking up on Tim Bits and terrible coffee we heard on the radio that there had been another sighting of a cougar in Squamish that day and the authoritys were desperate to track it down.
P.S. Read closely.

News update

News in short...
the third Phat Wednesday took place last wednesday on Schleyer to Lower Whistler Downhill and went down like a newly born giraffe on an ice rink. Most riders took tumbles which resulted in some disappointing results for most. I attempted to put the brand new Scott Gambler through the spin cycle but ended up ending my run 15 seconds in with a tribute huck to flat off the side of the Richie Schley wooden drop. As i dropped from the sky all i could see was expensive hospital bills and an early flight home fly past my eyes but amazingly all i had were a couple of sore wrists. Chris Kovarik turned up and bulldozed the competition by 11 seconds. his missus, claire buchar, also dominated the female category and beat the closest nearest chcik by about a week and a half.
Riding whistler may make you better as a rider but racing world cups makes you faster.
The most popular trails in the bike park have been taking a beating recently due to the very dry weather. We are begging for rain. Tip for avoiding the worst of the wrecked trails is to go up Garbanzo or to do yourself a favour and get out on the amazing trails in the valley outside of the bike park.
At the moment we have Doddy from MBUK and Sheryl Macloed from NZ Mountain Biker Magazine staying with us. Our chalets are like the equivalent of mountain bikings fleet street right now.
This weekend the Bear Back team head to Squamish for the Gearjammer race. 47km of singletrack trails that rode seperately are a joy and a treat, but rode in one go in about 3 or 4 hours straight is a grueling punishment apparently. Im a virgin to this race but Jonny boy is the defending champion for his age category. Watch this space

ITS JULY ALREADY!!!

Well knock me down with a breeze and paint me with a sponge, it's July already!!! It's been a busy summer so far as we have been booked out since the start of the season. Mark and Jonny have decided to delegate the task of blogging to yours truly, Seb Kemp, so keep checking back for badly written, poorly spelt entries which contain nonsensical phrases like this entries opener.

News In Brief:
New Scotts arrived. Only just built up the Gamblers so no feedback yet. Watch this space!! Been putting the Ransoms through the paces day in day out. These bikes get some serious mileage put on them. I can now put proof to this statement because...Garmin GPS have turned up and give a very detailed history of mileage thats been clocked up. So far i'm leading the Odometer challenge mainly because...Mark went and took a tumble snapping the MetaCarpel bone in his hand. Apparently he was too busy day dreaming and didn't pay attention to the boulder field he was appraoching. Never fear Jonny, Myself and new recruit Jamie are on hand to ride your legs off around Whistler. Jamie (aka J-T Huck) has been specially flown in from New Zealand via the Isle of Wight to cover Mark while he is recuperating. Except to see even more of Mark and his lovely dog Alfie floating around the chalets...Alex has settled into Black Bear Lodge and is dazzling all with her pancakes and Rissottos...TeaBoy Timmy has been doing serious trail building in between cooking up a storm and racing the weekly Loonie XC races on his DH bike for training...the Phat Wednesday DH races are been hotly contested this year. Yours truly stands in second place overall after the first two rounds...

And now for the weather...
It's bloody lovely. Sun Sun Sun!!!

Thats the news as of Friday. Check back regularly for updates and maybe some photos once my camera turns up. Damn CanadaPost!!
